THE STRANGEST SECRET

The Strangest Secret (Excerpt from Earl Nightingale) George Bernard Shaw said, "People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, they make them." Well, it's pretty apparent, isn't it? And every person who discovered this believed (for a while) that he was the first one to work it out. We become what we think about. Conversely, the person who has no goal, who doesn't know where he's going, and whose thoughts must therefore be thoughts of confusion, anxiety and worry - his life becomes one of frustration, fear, anxiety and worry. And if he thinks about nothing... he becomes nothing. How does it work? Why do we become what we think about? Well, I'll tell you how it works, as far as we know. To do this, I want to tell you about a situation that parallels the human mind. Suppose a farmer has some land, and it's good, fertile land. The land gives the farmer a choice; he may plant in that land whatever he chooses. The land doesn't care. It's up to the farmer to make the decision. We're comparing the human mind with the land because the mind, like the land, doesn't care what you plant in it. It will return what you plant, but it doesn't care what you plant. Now, let's say that the farmer has two seeds in his hand- one is a seed of corn, the other is nightshade, a deadly poison. He digs two little holes in the earth and he plants both seeds-one corn, the other nightshade. He covers up the holes, waters and takes care of the land...and what will happen? Invariably, the land will return what was planted. As it's written in the Bible, "As ye sow, so shall ye reap." Remember the land doesn't care. It will return poison in just as wonderful abundance as it will corn. So up come the two plants - one corn, one poison. The human mind is far more fertile, far more incredible and mysterious than the land, but it works the same way. It doesn't care what we plant...success...or failure. A concrete, worthwhile goal...or confusion, misunderstanding, fear, anxiety and so on. But what we plant must return to us. You see, the human mind is the last great unexplored continent on earth. It contains riches beyond our wildest dreams. It will return anything we want to plant. 　 The Spiritual Secret (Excerpt from one of Jesus' parables from Mark 4 :2-9)   "And He taught them many things in parables (illustrations or comparisons put beside truths to explain them), and in His teaching He said to them: Give attention to this! Behold, a sower went out to sow. And as he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Other seed [of the same kind] fell on ground full of rocks, where it had not much soil; and at once it sprang up, because it had no depth of soil; And when the sun came up, it was scorched, and because it had not taken root, it withered away. Other seed [of the same kind] fell among thorn plants, and the thistles grew and pressed together and utterly choked and suffocated it, and it yielded no grain. And other seed [of the same kind] fell into good (well-adapted) soil and brought forth grain, growing up and increasing, and yielded up to thirty times as much, and sixty times as much, and even a hundred times as much as had been sown. And He said, He who has ears to hear, let him be hearing [and let him [a]consider, and comprehend]. "(AMP) 　 Therefore good harvest depends on high quality seed (God's Word) and also on the quality of the land (the condition of one's mind and heart which is also known as our soul). The soul (land) is nourished by Gods grace and by our prayers. Through the power of the Holy Spirit and by faith we are enabled to perform good deeds, cultivate confidence in ourselves, become enterprising, hardworking and constantly remove dangerous weeds (like bad and compulsive habits, negative thoughts,fear hatred, unforgiving attitude etc).   A few things are required of us.   1) DAILY READING OF THE WORD OF GOD (Planting of good seed)   2) REGULAR HABIT OF PRAYER AND SEEKING GOD'S PRESENCE AND GOD'S HELP ( Watering the land and spraying fertilisers and pesticides.) 3)SINCERE EFFORTS ON OUR PART TO BREAK BAD HABITS,VICES,FEAR,COMPULSIVE HABITS,NEGATIVE THINKING,LAZINESS ETC. ( Digging up pathways,clearing the rocks and stones and uprooting weeds and thorn bushes)   4) HAVING A FIXED GOAL TO FULFILL OUR GOD GIVEN RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS LIFE AND TO GAIN ETERNAL LIFE FOR OURSELVES AND FOR OTHERS. (Becoming one with God -this is Bliss, Ecstacy, Nirvana,Samadhi etc.)   5)OUR FATHER GOD HAS MADE ALL THIS POSSIBLE FOR US BY OFFERING HIS ONLY SON JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS FOR THE REMOVAL OF ALL OUR SINS (Negatives) AND ABUNDANT BLESSINGS.(Worldly and Spiritual Success).   YOU ARE ONLY REQUIRED TO BELIEVE THIS SECRET AND ACT IN FAITH ! GOD WILL PROVIDE US THE STRENGTH, BECAUSE HE HAS PROMISED US. THEREFORE WE SHOULD CONSIDER OURSELVES MOST FORTUNATE TO HAVE THE POWER AND PRESENCE OF CHRIST AT OUR RIGHT -HAND FOR ALL KINDS OF SUCCESS.
