FINDING THE RIGHT BALANCE BETWEEN GRACE AND FAITH
LIVING IN THE BALANCE OF GRACE AND FAITH
CALLED TO SERVE
ANGER
STOP ! LOOK ! LISTEN ! ANGER MANAGEMENT...... BY RICK WARREN "A fool gives vent to his anger but a wise man keeps himself under control." Proverbs 29:11 (NIV)
Why is it so important to keep our anger under control? Because uncontrolled anger can become a habitual way of responding to life. Pretty soon, your anger controls you instead of you controlling your anger. The Book of Proverbs is filled with practical steps on how to control your anger. Let me share three. The easiest way to remember them is to remember a little phase that you may have learned as a child when you were taught to cross the street: Stop, Look, Listen. 1. Stop. Stop and think before you speak. I don't know why it is but angry words always seem to come easily. I know some people who, when they get angry, are witty, sarcastic, quick! But a sharp tongue is the quickest way to cut your throat. Proverbs 14:17 (NIV) says, "A quick tempered man does foolish things." And Proverbs 15:1 (NIV) says, "A gentle answer turns away wrath but harsh words stir up anger." The starting point in dealing with anger is to stop and watch what you say. 2. Look. Look at the situation from God's point of view, not your point-of-view. That means be mature enough to overlook minor hurts, frustrations and insecurities. If somebody insults you, criticizes you, or puts you down, be mature enough to say, "It's not going to bother me." Proverbs 12:16 (NIV) says,"A man's wisdom gives him patience. It is his glory to overlook an offense." Anger, like every other emotion, is caused by the way you see a situation. If you want to control your anger, one way to do it is to change your point-of-view. 3. Listen. Listen to the needs and hurts of those people that you're tempted to be angry against. Any angry person is just a hurting person. They're hurting inside, they're frustrated. When you listen to their needs, it's easier to respond and not get angry. "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." (James 1:19 NIV) If you do the first two, the third will come automatically. If you are quick to listen and slow to speak, it is going to be automatic that you are slow to become angry |

OPPORTUNITIES DO NOT QUEUE
The eagle did what the prairie chickens did. It scratched in the dirt for seeds. It clucked and cackled. It never flew more than a few feet because that is what the prairie chickens did.
One day he saw an eagle flying gracefully and majestically in the open sky. He asked the prairie chickens: "What is that beautiful bird?" The chickens replied, "That is an eagle. He is an outstanding bird, but you cannot fly like him because you are just a prairie chicken."
So the eagle never gave it a second thought, believing that to be the truth. He lived the life of and died a prairie chicken, depriving himself of his heritage because of his lack of vision.
What a waste! He was born to win, but was conditioned to lose. Do not let people or situations or even yourself condition you to lose in life.

A FAITHFUL MAN WILL ABOUND WITH BLESSINGS
BEING BLAMELESS
- Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
In the Bible we read about many devout persons who led a blameless life. David was an ordinary man like us. Since he lived a blameless life before God he received countless blessings from Him. The Lord Himself testified about David saying, "I have found David son of Jesse a man after My own heart" (Acts 13:22). The Psalmist says, "I will be careful to lead a blameless life – when will You come to me? I will walk in my house with blameless heart" (Psalm 101:2). The Lord also testified about Moses that he was faithful and a beloved of the Lord (Numbers 12:7; Hebrews 3:2, 5). About Job He said that he was blameless, upright, feared God and shunned evil (Job 1:1, 8).
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, "Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel; from each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, every one a leader among them." So Moses sent them from the Wilderness of Paran according to the command of the LORD, all of them men who were heads of the children of Israel. Caleb the son of Jephunneh the head of the tribe of Judah and Joshua the son of Nun from the tribe of Ephraim were among those who were sent to spy the land that God promised to give His children.
And they returned from spying out the land after forty days. They came back to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel in the Wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh; they brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. Then they told him, and said: "We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. "Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there.
Caleb gave a good report. It is stated in the Bible that Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, "Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it" (Numbers 13:30). 'Surely none of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and above, shall see the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because they have not wholly followed Me. Except Caleb son of Jephunneh. He will see it, and I will give him and his descendants the land he set his feet on, because he followed the Lord wholeheartedly" (Deuteronomy 1:36; Numbers 32:11, 12).
When we too shun all evil and lead a righteous life with the fear of God, then we too shall earn a good name in society as blameless people. Then the Lord shall also bless our family life. These days there is no joy between husband and wife and there is no unity between parents and children. But the Lord is able to transform you as blameless people and prosper your life even though you live under difficult circumstances. When the Lord says something He shall certainly do it. Because He says that, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away" (Matthew 24-35). On this day, cling to God always and claim the promises that He has given you. Be assured of His blessings for you and your household.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
Help me to lead a blameless life giving priority to You and Your kingdom. You have promised to add every blessing in my life when I look up to You for everything. Please enable me to be cling on to You always so that I can be a source of blessings not only to myself but to others as well. Guide and guard me in all that I set my hands to work upon. Protect me under Your mighty wings and make me glad on this day.
In Your precious name I pray.
Amen
THANKSGIVING
