INHERITANCE OF GOD'S CHILDREN

              INHERITANCE OF GOD'S CHILDREN

PROVERBS 28:10     (From different versions)

" He who leads the upright along an evil path
       will fall into his own trap,
       but the blameless will receive a good inheritance."

'Those who lead good people along an evil path
will fall into their own trap,
but the honest will inherit good things.'

'Whoever leads the upright astray into an evil way, he will himself fall into his own pit, but the blameless will have a goodly inheritance.'

'Whoever leads decent people into evil will fall into his own pit,
but innocent people will inherit good things.'

'Lead good people down a wrong path
and you'll come to a bad end;
do good and you'll be rewarded for it.'

 In most of the translations the word 'inherit' or 'inheritance' is used with regard to the reward that awaits the god-fearing person. Inheritance is something that you get without working for it.The child inherits from the parents not because of merit, but because of the relationship.Similarly as we have become adopted children of God through the passion,death and resurrection of Christ, we inherit all of the good things and blessings from God. As God's chidren.we only have to claim those blessings in faith.

GOD'S WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE

- Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

The Dhinakarans

A person who never gives importance to sleep, but gets up even while it is still dark and seeks the Lord with all godliness, the Lord fills such a person with His divine wisdom and guides them throughout the day by holding their hands and leads them with His divine instructions. "Those who seek Me (God) early shall find me" (Proverbs 8:17) "The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakes my ear to listen like one being taught" (Isaiah 50:4).

It is the wisdom of the Lord which changed me who began my married life without any wisdom into a fine home-maker. He filled me with divine wisdom and guided me in such a way that even an old lady who found fault with everyone to pay remarkable remarks about me. Our family life built by such divine wisdom was very simple during the initial days. In fact one of the pastors who witnessed our simple life even mocked at us. However we rejoiced in the Lord even in that condition and led a contented life. The Lord knew our hearts, and according to His promise, "Through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures" (Proverbs 24:4), He blessed us with everything at His appointed time. Since my husband was faithful in giving tithes, the Lord filled our home with His blessings to overflowing capacity (Malachi 3:10). He proved that He is a 'promise keeping and faithful God" in our life. Dear Friend! Are you troubled thinking about the various needs in your life? Get to know the divine wisdom of God which led me miraculously then you shall also be blessed. The Lord will certainly exalt you too at His appointed time. First of all, you must accept the Lord Jesus Christ who is the "Fountain of all wisdom" as Your personal Saviour whole-heartedly. Then He shall become your wisdom, righteousness, holiness and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30).

You should not stop with that. You must get up early in the morning and seek Him sincerely. Then He shall be your wisdom for the whole day. He shall be a wonderful Counsellor to you because in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3). The Lord shall help you to excel in conducting your family life, building your house and in holiness. He shall also grant you a zeal for godliness and all His blessings from heaven, so that you shall be honoured amidst everyone and He shall keep you in a great and glorious stature. King Solomon sought after wisdom and the Lord granted Him more than he asked for and filled him with His power and wisdom and gave him name and fame. Likewise you too cry out to God. The Lord who is not a Respecter of persons shall certainly bless you and fill you with divine wisdom.

Prayer:

Almighty God,

Fountain of all wisdom, knowledge and understanding, I bow before you. Oh, the depth of the riches both of Your wisdom and knowledge they are unsearchable are Your judgments and Your ways are past finding out! You give wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; You store up sound wisdom for the upright; You are a shield to those who walk uprightly. On this wonderful day, fill me with Your divine wisdom and knowledge and help me excel in everything that You desire me to do.

In the matchless name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen.

Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Reading 1

Zep 3:14-18a

Shout for joy, O daughter Zion!

Sing joyfully, O Israel!

Be glad and exult with all your heart,

O daughter Jerusalem!

The LORD has removed the judgment against you,

he has turned away your enemies;

The King of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst,

you have no further misfortune to fear.

On that day, it shall be said to Jerusalem:

Fear not, O Zion, be not discouraged!

The LORD, your God, is in your midst,

a mighty savior;

He will rejoice over you with gladness,

and renew you in his love,

He will sing joyfully because of you,

as one sings at festivals.

Rom 12:9-16

Brothers and sisters:

Let love be sincere;

hate what is evil,

hold on to what is good;

love one another with mutual affection;

anticipate one another in showing honor.

Do not grow slack in zeal,

be fervent in spirit,

serve the Lord.

Rejoice in hope,

endure in affliction,

persevere in prayer.

Contribute to the needs of the holy ones,

exercise hospitality.

Bless those who persecute you,

bless and do not curse them.

Rejoice with those who rejoice,

weep with those who weep.

Have the same regard for one another;

do not be haughty but associate with the lowly;do not be wise in your own estimation.</

Responsorial Psalm

R.          (6)  Among you is the great and Holy One of Israel.

God indeed is my savior;

I am confident and unafraid.

My strength and my courage is the LORD,

and he has been my savior.

With joy you will draw water

at the fountain of salvation.

R.          Among you is the great and Holy One of Israel.

Give thanks to the LORD, acclaim his name;

among the nations make known his deeds,

proclaim how exalted is his name.

R.          Among you is the great and Holy One of Israel.

Sing praise to the LORD for his glorious achievement;

let this be known throughout all the earth.

Shout with exultation, O city of Zion,

for great in your midst

is the Holy One of Israel!

Today's Promise

Promise for the Day

Gospel

Mary set out

and traveled to the hill country in haste

to a town of Judah,

where she entered the house of Zechariah

and greeted Elizabeth.

When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting,

the infant leaped in her womb,

and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit,

cried out in a loud voice and said,

"Most blessed are you among women,

and blessed is the fruit of your womb.

And how does this happen to me,

that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears,

the infant in my womb leaped for joy.

Blessed are you who believed

that what was spoken to you by the Lord

would be fulfilled."

And Mary said:

"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;

my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed:

the Almighty has done great things for me,

and holy is his Name.

He has mercy on those who fear him

in every generation.

He has shown the strength of his arm,

he has scattered the proud in their conceit.

He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,

and has lifted up the lowly.

He has filled the hungry with good things,

and the rich he has sent away empty.

He has come to the help of his servant Israel

for he has remembered his promise of mercy,

the promise he made to our fathers,

to Abraham and his children for ever."

Mary remained with her about three monthsand then returned to her home.

VISITATION OF OUR BLESSED MOTHER VIRGIN MARY

ON THE FEAST OF THE VISITATION OF OUR BLESSED MOTHER

A sermon by St Bede the Venerable
Mary proclaims the greatness of the Lord working in her soul
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my saviour. With these words Mary first acknowledges the special gifts she has been given. Then she recalls God's universal favours, bestowed unceasingly on the human race.
  When a man devotes all his thoughts to the praise and service of the Lord, he proclaims God's greatness. His observance of God's commands, moreover, shows that he has God's power and greatness always at heart. His spirit rejoices in God his saviour and delights in the mere recollection of his creator who gives him hope for eternal salvation.
  These words are often for all God's creations, but especially for the Mother of God. She alone was chosen, and she burned with spiritual love for the son she so joyously conceived. Above all other saints, she alone could truly rejoice in Jesus, her saviour, for she knew that he who was the source of eternal salvation would be born in time in her body, in one person both her own son and her Lord.
  For the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. Mary attributes nothing to her own merits. She refers all her greatness to the gift of the one whose essence is power and whose nature is greatness, for he fills with greatness and strength the small and the weak who believe in him.
  She did well to add: and holy is his name, to warn those who heard, and indeed all who would receive his words, that they must believe and call upon his name. For they too could share in everlasting holiness and true salvation according to the words of the prophet: and it will come to pass, that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. This is the name she spoke of earlier: and my spirit rejoices in God my saviour.
  Therefore it is an excellent and fruitful custom of holy Church that we should sing Mary's hymn at the time of evening prayer. By meditating upon the incarnation, our devotion is kindled, and by remembering the example of God's Mother, we are encouraged to lead a life of virtue. Such virtues are best achieved in the evening. We are weary after the day's work and worn out by our distractions. The time for rest is near, and our minds are ready for contemplation.

BLESSED ARE THE MERCIFUL

Mathew 5:7

"Blessed are those who show mercy.
      They will be treated mercifully."

Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous--with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy!

There are some who by nature are merciful. They are indeed fortunate to have such a good quality. But the quality of mercy which is the fruit of the Holy Spirit is  much superior .This is given to christians who have received the annointing of the Holy Spirit. This is the reason they are called blessed persons.Such persons also receive mercy in abundance from God.
We have the example of Fr. Maxmillian Kolbe who like Christ ,gave his life for a fellow prisoner.
   LET US ALSO PRAY FOR THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR EACH ONE OF US.

BE BLESSED BY GOD IN YOUR FAMILIES

GOD HONOURS

- Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran

The Dhinakarans

The Lord who blessed Jacob just as He promised shall bless your children as well (Genesis 28:10-15, Isaiah 49:21). God's promises are Yes and in Him Amen (2 Corinthians 1:20).

Jacob says, "I crossed over this Jordan with my staff and now I have become two companies" Genesis 32:10. Similarly, God blessed Moses also. He was put in a basket and floated on the river when he was just three months old baby.

Moses was brought up according to the following verses "This is what the Sovereign Lord says: See, I will beckon to the Gentiles, I will lift up my banner to the peoples; they will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their shoulders. Kings will be your foster fathers and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down before you with their faces to the ground; they will lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who hope in me will not be disappointed" (Isaiah 49:22, 23). He was brought up by the princess. "He was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action" (Acts 7:22). Moses was exalted in such a manner that he led the Israelites who were slaves in Egypt to Canaan. The Lord was also with him. Above all the Lord spoke to him face to face (Numbers 12:8).

We always think that we are bringing up our children. But when the blessing of God comes upon us, He Himself shall instruct and guide our children. The peace concerning our children shall really be great for us. The Bible says, "All your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be your children's peace" (Isaiah 54:13).

After my marriage I thought everything will be joyous for me. But only after my marriage I lost my mother, brother and father one after another. In my agony I cried, "Oh Lord, why did You leave me alone?" The Lord saw my tears. Today He has blessed my children abundantly. He gave us wonderful brothers and sisters who took care of them while they were young. Seeing the way my children have been blessed I have asked God with wonder, "Who brought up these children?"

While my children were just 12 years and 10 years respectively they used to pray to God every day during the family prayer and ask, "Oh Lord, You have filled my parents and grandparents with Your Holy Spirit. Please give us also the anointing of the Holy Spirit" (Isaiah 59:21). We have never compelled them either to get filled with the Holy Spirit or to do His ministry. The Lord who saw the great longing, which they had in their heart to receive the Holy Spirit anointed both of them during the Institute of Power Ministry.

Today God is using all my three children mightily in His ministry. "Here am I and the children who the Lord has given me! We are for signs and wonders in Israel. From the Lord of hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion" (Isaiah 8:18). The Lord has blessed our whole family. Countless people are blessed through our children. The Lord listens to their sincere prayers and sends His answers.

Dear Friend, after seeing the way your children have been blessed and their great peace you would also praise God. Dear Friend, such blessings shall come seeking after you. The Lord shall remove all your wants and bless you abundantly. The peace of your children shall be great and they shall be taught by the Lord Himself.

The Lord who blessed Sarah, Rebecca, Jacob and Moses is with you even today. He tells you, "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness." Our Heavenly Father who is full of love is in our midst and in our family as a mighty God. He shall make you and your children so strong and beautiful like well-nurtured plants and pillars carved to adorn a palace. He shall certainly supply all your needs.

Prayer

Loving heavenly Father,

On this wonderful day, which You have granted me in Your grace and mercy, I praise and thank You for all the goodness You have bestowed upon me. I pray that you bless me just as how You blessed Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, Deborah, Esther and others who sought You diligently. May Your peace always rest upon me and the members of my household. Help us to be like well-nurtured plants and pillars carved to adorn a place. Since You are my Good Shepherd I trust that I shall have no lack in my life.

In the matchless name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen.

TODAY'S MASS READINGS AND GOD'S ASSURANCE FOR US

May 30, 2010
The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity

Reading 1

Thus says the wisdom of God:

"The LORD possessed me, the beginning of his ways,

the forerunner of his prodigies of long ago;

from of old I was poured forth,

at the first, before the earth.

When there were no depths I was brought forth,

when there were no fountains or springs of water;

before the mountains were settled into place,

before the hills, I was brought forth;

while as yet the earth and fields were not made,

nor the first clods of the world.

"When the Lord established the heavens I was there,

when he marked out the vault over the face of the deep;

when he made firm the skies above,

when he fixed fast the foundations of the earth;

when he set for the sea its limit,

so that the waters should not transgress his command;

then was I beside him as his craftsman,

and I was his delight day by day,

playing before him all the while,

playing on the surface of his earth;

and I found delight in the human race."

Today's Promise

Promise for the Day

Responsorial Psalm

R.          (2a)  O Lord, our God, how wonderful your name in all the earth!

When I behold your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars which you set in place —
What is man that you should be mindful of him,
or the son of man that you should care for him?

R.          O Lord, our God, how wonderful your name in all the earth!

You have made him little less than the angels,
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him rule over the works of your hands,
putting all things under his feet:

R.          O Lord, our God, how wonderful your name in all the earth!

All sheep and oxen,
yes, and the beasts of the field,
The birds of the air, the fishes of the sea,
and whatever swims the paths of the seas.

R.          O Lord, our God, how wonderful your name in all the earth!

Reading 2

Brothers and sisters:

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith,

we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

through whom we have gained access by faith

to this grace in which we stand,

and we boast in hope of the glory of God.

Not only that, but we even boast of our afflictions,

knowing that affliction produces endurance,

and endurance, proven character,

and proven character, hope,

and hope does not disappoint,

because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts

through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

Jesus said to his disciples:

"I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.

But when he comes, the Spirit of truth,

he will guide you to all truth.

He will not speak on his own,

but he will speak what he hears,

and will declare to you the things that are coming.

He will glorify me,

because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.

Everything that the Father has is mine;

for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine

and declare it to you."

THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD

                            THE   SOVEREIGNTY   OF    GOD

Psalm 135:3-6

(3) Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good;
Sing praises to His name, for it is pleasant.
(4) For the LORD has chosen Jacob for Himself,
Israel for His special treasure. (5) For I know that the LORD is great,
And our Lord is above all gods.
(6) Whatever the LORD pleases He does,
In heaven and in earth,
In the seas and in all deep places.
 Since God is God, who can dare challenge His prerogative? Who can dare call Him into account for the way in which He deals with us or those we feel close to? Do we, in our limited perception, frequently become critical or frustrated with the way God is handling affairs? When this happens, we are in reality leaving God out of the picture. Where is our faith in His character or His lovingkindness? To murmur against Him is rank rebellion. To question His ways in the wrong attitude is to impugn His power, wisdom, and rights. We should never forget what Isaiah 40:17-18 says of Him whom we serve: "All nations before Him are as nothing, and they are counted by Him less than nothing and worthless. To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him?"
We can see that God has created all of nature with great diversity. The laws of nature, also set in motion by God, operate and keep everything under control. Is it really necessary for Him to manage or govern His creation actively? Psalm 22:28 reminds us, "For the kingdom is the LORD'S, and He rules over the nations." The King James version reads, "He is the governor over the nations," but rule is what a governor does. He rules, manages, keeps under control, or directs according to His own purpose.
Did God create all things and then step away from what He had made, allowing it to operate on its own? Are we now subject to uniform, impersonal law rather than a sovereign God actively controlling the operations of His creation? Everywhere the Bible confirms that God is actively involved in managing His creation—and no part of His creation receives more attention than the supreme, ongoing creation He is working in our lives, the creation of His image in us. This almighty, sovereign God has His attention focused on His church, and we can have faith in that. There is nothing in its existence of which He is not aware and that is not subject to His sovereign dictates.

John W. Ritenbaugh
From  The Sovereignty of God: Part Three

TRUST THE LORD ALWAYS

                          HOW GOOD AND LOVING IS OUR LORD !

PSALM 91:14

"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name."

"Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness--trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never]."

The Lord says, "I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name."

"Because you love me, I will rescue you.
I will protect you because you know my name."

  "If you'll hold on to me for dear life," says God,
      "I'll get you out of any trouble.
   I'll give you the best of care
      if you'll only get to know and trust me.
   Call me and I'll answer, be at your side in bad times;
      I'll rescue you, then throw you a party.
   I'll give you a long life,
      give you a long drink of salvation!"

PRAYING IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH

                                     (PRAYING IN TONGUES)

ARISE! SHINE!

- Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

The Dhinakarans

When we worship God in spirit and truth, He shall fill us with His presence (John 4:24). When we pray and sing in spirit and truth, God Himself shall take care of everything concerning the family and guide us (1 Corinthians 14:15).

During the early stages of my married life, Bro. Dhinakaran would leave for his office at 9:30 am and invariably he would return home only after 9 pm. I would stay all alone at home cooking and completing the household work in the morning. In the evening I would offer prayers waiting in God's presence. One evening around 6 o' clock I knelt down and sang a song taught by my mother in spirit with all sincerity. Suddenly a lightning like power descended and passed from the top of my head to the sole of my foot. This pleasant experience was new for me.

While Jesus and His disciples passed through Samaria, His disciples felt very hungry. But the Lord Jesus said, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His word" (John 4:34). He was hungry for souls. A Samaritan woman who was living in sin came to draw water. Jesus spoke and revealed her life to her. Immediately she felt in her spirit, "He is a prophet. He has revealed my life." She left her water pot and ran into the city. She invited everyone saying, "One person has revealed my life. Come and see whether He is the Messiah". The entire city heard His word through her and became believers.

There lived a devout man named Wesley who had many children. His wife placed her hands upon every child and prayed daily in the morning and at night saying, "Lord keep this child away from all harm and danger, keep this child holy and pleasing in Your sight today." The Lord listened to the prayers of Mrs. Wesley that were offered with all sincerity. Her children grew in the fear of God and they were exalted in life. John Wesley one of their sons was a flame of fire for the Lord because God filled him with the Holy Spirit in an abundant measure. Another son named Charles Wesley composed many songs that were translated into various languages and are being sung all over the world for the glory of God.

Dear Friend! Arise and shine for God (Isaiah 60:1-3). When you arise and shine the gentiles shall come to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising. The Lord is asking you today: "My dear child, will you seek Me faithfully? I am waiting to bless you. How many of you shall worship Me in spirit and truth?" How many of you are going to surrender yourself as a family?

When you surrender yourself as a family and seek the Lord faithfully, the Lord who remembered His mercy and truth to the household of Israel will certainly remember you too. He shall shower His mercies in an abundant measure and enable you to arise and shine as a family.

Prayer:

Loving heavenly Father,

Help me to arise and shine revealing Your glory to this world that is swayed in darkness. Enable me to shine like a lamp dispelling darkness. Give me the grace not to grumble over the darkness that is surrounding me but in Your immense mercy pour the Holy Spirit upon me that I may shine brightly and also lighten other lamps that have been long put off by the cares of this world. May my thoughts, words and deeds be always pleasing in Your sight. When I declare a thing may it be established for me. May Your light always shine on my ways. When people cast me down, help me to trust that You desire to pronounce, 'Exaltation will come!' I believe that You will always save the humble person. Help me to always sing praises of Your holy name.

Amen.

Reading 1

Beloved, remember the words spoken beforehand

by the Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Build yourselves up in your most holy faith; pray in the Holy Spirit.

Keep yourselves in the love of God

and wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ

that leads to eternal life.

On those who waver, have mercy;

save others by snatching them out of the fire;

on others have mercy with fear,

abhorring even the outer garment stained by the flesh.

To the one who is able to keep you from stumbling

and to present you unblemished and exultant,

in the presence of his glory,

to the only God, our savior,

through Jesus Christ our Lord

be glory, majesty, power, and authority

from ages past, now, and for ages to come. Amen.

Responsorial Psalm

R.          (2b)  My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God.

O God, you are my God whom I seek;

for you my flesh pines and my soul thirsts

like the earth, parched, lifeless and without water.

R.          My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God.

Thus have I gazed toward you in the sanctuary

to see your power and your glory,

For your kindness is a greater good than life;

my lips shall glorify you.

R.          My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God.

Thus will I bless you while I live;

lifting up my hands, I will call upon your name.

As with the riches of a banquet shall my soul be satisfied,

and with exultant lips my mouth shall praise you.

R.          My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God.

Jesus and his disciples returned once more to Jerusalem.

As he was walking in the temple area,

the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders

approached him and said to him,

"By what authority are you doing these things?

Or who gave you this authority to do them?"

Jesus said to them, "I shall ask you one question.

Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

Was John's baptism of heavenly or of human origin? Answer me."

They discussed this among themselves and said,

"If we say, 'Of heavenly origin,' he will say,

'Then why did you not believe him?'

But shall we say, 'Of human origin'?"

they feared the crowd,

for they all thought John really was a prophet.

So they said to Jesus in reply, "We do not know."

Then Jesus said to them,

"Neither shall I tell you by what authority I do these things."

SPIRITUAL HEALING

 SPIRITUAL SURGERY FOR TOTAL HEALING OF BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT
 Hosea 6:1-3
"Come on, let's go back to God. He hurt us, but he'll heal us.
He hit us hard,
but he'll put us right again.
In a couple of days we'll feel better.
By the third day he'll have made us brand-new,
Alive and on our feet,
fit to face him.
We're ready to study God,
eager for God-knowledge.
As sure as dawn breaks,
so sure is his daily arrival.
He comes as rain comes,
as spring rain refreshing the ground."  (The Message)

A good doctor first makes an incision in the wound, opens it up, removes the pus, cleans the wound and after applying medicine to it, bandages the wound for complete healing.
Similarly in the case of broken bones, a good doctor will first straighten up the broken bone, set them correctly and then applies bandages so that the broken bone will fuse into each other correctly and completely. All this involves severe pain and trauma for the patient, but healing is guaranteed.
In the same way God corrects and disciplines us before rewarding us. This testing period (surgery) though difficult is very much necessary,if we wish to please God and obtain whatever we want in life,according to God's will. Purification, though a painful process is very necessary,for gradually being transformed into the image and likeness of our God Jesus Christ.

Todays Message

MY PROVIDER

- Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran

The Dhinakarans

When your family goes through poverty, the Lord shall supply all your needs and bless you. When you lament that you do not have a child or you have not received any financial help, the Lord shall remove all your wants and bless you in an abundant measure.

The Lord blessed Sarah in such a measure. God told her, "I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her" Genesis 17:16.

When did the Lord say this? Abraham and Sarah were already old and well advanced in years and Sarah was past the age of childbearing. It was at this juncture the Lord promised Abraham, "Your wife Sarah will bear you a son." So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, "After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure?" But the Lord fulfilled the promise that He gave to Abraham and increased his descendants as countless as the sand on the seashore.

My mother's first child died because she did not know how to take care of it. Likewise, the second child also died. The people of her town ridiculed saying, "She doesn't know how to rear a child. She will not beget any more." It was then my mother clung firmly to the Lord trusting that He would lift her head up. She also began to pray with fasting. As a result the Lord came in search of my mother and blessed her.

At a time when it seemed impossible to beget a child, God blessed her. She was careful in bringing up all the four children in the fear of God. Bible says, "My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). The Lord who blessed Sarah and my mother shall certainly bless you. The Bible says, "The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: 'Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.' " (Jeremiah 31:3).

When you fully trust that the Lord loves you so much, He shall certainly bless you. Probably you are in agony because of childlessness or unemployment or no house of your own. The Lord shall bless you, who are in great agony because of the wants in your life, in double measure. Your strength might have decreased but the Lord is able to bless you after testing your patience.

The Lord who calls those things that do not exist as if they do, shall remove all your wants and bless you in an abundant measure. When the Lord blesses you in such a manner you would say, "There is no room for me to store all these blessings. They are over flowing. So let me bless others."

Prayer

Almighty God,

I praise and thank You because You have been my Provider since the day I was conceived. In You, O Lord, I put my trust; Let me never be put to shame. Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape; Incline Your ear to me, and save me. Be my strong refuge, To which I may resort continually; You have given the commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress. Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth. By You I have been upheld from birth; You are He who took me out of my mother's womb. My praise shall be continually of You.

In the matchless name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen.

TODAY'S MASS READINGS AND GOD'S PROMISE FOR YOU THIS DAY

May 28, 2010
Friday of the Eighth Week in Ordinary Time

Reading 1
1 Pt 4:7-13 Beloved:
The end of all things is at hand.
Therefore be serious and sober-minded
so that you will be able to pray.
Above all, let your love for one another be intense,
because love covers a multitude of sins.
Be hospitable to one another without complaining.
As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another
as good stewards of God's varied grace.
Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God;
whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies,
so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ,
to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Beloved, do not be surprised that a trial by fire is occurring among you,
as if something strange were happening to you.
But rejoice to the extent that you share in the sufferings of Christ,
so that when his glory is revealed
you may also rejoice exultantly.

Ps 96:10, 11-12, 13 <bible/psalms/psalm96.htm>Responsorial Psalm
R. (13b) The Lord comes to judge the earth.
Say among the nations: The LORD is king.
He has made the world firm, not to be moved;
he governs the peoples with equity.
R. The Lord comes to judge the earth.
Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice;
let the sea and what fills it resound;
let the plains be joyful and all that is in them!
Then shall all the trees of the forest exult.
R. The Lord comes to judge the earth.
Before the LORD, for he comes;
for he comes to rule the earth.
He shall rule the world with justice
and the peoples with his constancy.
R. The Lord comes to judge the earth

Gospel

Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple area.

He looked around at everything and, since it was already late,

went out to Bethany with the Twelve.

The next day as they were leaving Bethany he was hungry.

Seeing from a distance a fig tree in leaf,

he went over to see if he could find anything on it.

When he reached it he found nothing but leaves;

it was not the time for figs.

And he said to it in reply, "May no one ever eat of your fruit again!"

And his disciples heard it.

They came to Jerusalem,

and on entering the temple area

he began to drive out those selling and buying there.

He overturned the tables of the money changers

and the seats of those who were selling doves.

He did not permit anyone to carry anything through the temple area.

Then he taught them saying, "Is it not written:

My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples?

But you have made it a den of thieves."

The chief priests and the scribes came to hear of it

and were seeking a way to put him to death,

yet they feared him

because the whole crowd was astonished at his teaching.

When evening came, they went out of the city.

Early in the morning, as they were walking along,

they saw the fig tree withered to its roots.

Peter remembered and said to him, "Rabbi, look!

The fig tree that you cursed has withered."

Jesus said to them in reply, "Have faith in God.

Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain,

'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,'

and does not doubt in his heart

but believes that what he says will happen,

it shall be done for him.

Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer,

believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours.

When you stand to pray,

forgive anyone against whom you have a grievance,

so that your heavenly Father may in turnforgive you your transgressions."
