THE LORD WHO REMEMBERSStella Dhinakaran
Yet I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; O my God, do not delay. (Psalm 40:17)
Dearly beloved, the Lord has promised never to leave or forget us. He says, “Remember these things, O Jacob, for you are my servant, O Israel. I have made you…O Israel, I will not forget you” (Isaiah 44:21). The above-mentioned promise of God is of great consolation to us. We are living in a time where people are turning ungrateful and treacherous. But the love of God is incomparable.
Let us now meditate as to how God will remember us throughout this year and guide us.
A Christian family forsook the love of God and lived according to their own whims and fancies. Finally, they lost all peace and joy in their family. It was at that juncture one of their family friends brought the lady of that house to a Jesus Calls Family Blessing Meeting.
She was deeply touched by the message and the testimonies shared at that meeting. Above all, she was very much attracted by the glory of God which descended upon that meeting that day. She returned home greatly consoled. Very soon, her life was totally transformed. Even her husband who used to hate her, was attracted by this heavenly glory. Even his life was transformed.
Their only son who was addicted to all kinds of evil habits even while he was eleven years old, was also touched by the love of God on account of the prayers of his mother. He also accepted Lord Jesus Christ as His personal Saviour. In fact, the love of God was mainly responsible for the transformation of the whole family.
The Psalmist prays, “Yet I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; O my God, do not delay” (Psalm 40:17). According to the aforementioned Scripture verse, God never forgets us. His love is much more than the love of a mother (Isaiah 49:15). He remembers us and helps us when we are poor and needy in this world. Let us forsake worldly pleasures and come to Him. When we sincerely repent, He will forgive and accept us.
Prayer: Loving Lord Jesus,
I thank You for your wonderful love. You have promised not to forget me. I have lost all peace and joy in my life. I lift my hands to You for mercy. In your great mercy, remember me and help me. May your divine love deliver me from all evil habits. Let your wonderful presence guide me throughout this year. May your heavenly glory transform my life.
In Your matchless name I pray.
Amen. ----
