GREAT JOYPaul Dhinakaran
Dearly beloved, the Lord has great joy in store for you this year. Great joy! The Bible exclaims, “There was great joy in that city” (Acts 8:8).
Why this joy? The Scripture answers, “With shrieks, evil spirits came out of many, and many paralytics and cripples were healed” (Acts 8:7).’ When the evil spirits came out of the people, they received physical healing. Subsequently, there was great joy in that city. When the devil is driven out of people, they derive great joy.
The Psalmist says, “The enemy pursues me, he crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in darkness like those long dead” (Psalm 143:3). In this world, the devil makes people to dwell in darkness. Even if they are alive, he makes them like the dead.
Probably, you are also in the same situation. May be you are lamenting, “I am unable to pray to God. I am not able to live happily with others. I always feel jealous and angry. I am unable to enjoy the love of others. Whatever I do end in failure. The devil is tormenting me on all sides. What can I do?” Kindly do not be worried. The Lord will certainly grant you great joy.
Lord Jesus will drive the devil away. The Bible reveals, “The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work” (I John 3:8). Yes! Lord Jesus came into this world just to destroy the work of the devil. He triumphed over him on the cross and made a public spectacle of him.
The Lord promises, “I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name” (Isaiah 45:3). He asks lovably, “My child! What have you lost till now?” He assures, “Henceforth, I shall open up many avenues for you. You will get back all that you have lost.” Kindly do not be worried. The Lord will deliver you from the darkness caused by the devil and bring back all the riches and treasures for you. He will grant you a joyful life this year.
Prayer: Loving Lord Jesus,
I thank You for your promise to give me the hidden treasures and riches. You came to this world to destroy the works of the devil. You triumphed over him on the cross. According to your promise, give me the treasures and riches which You have kept in store for me. Restore to me all that I have lost. Deliver me from darkness and encircle me with your light. Grant me a joyful life.
In Your matchless name I pray.
Amen. ----
