GOD GOES AHEAD OF USPaul Dhinakaran
Dearly beloved, Lord Jesus will go before you this New Year. When He rose up from the dead, He gave the following message to His disciples through Mary Magdalene. “…He(Lord Jesus) has risen!...He is going ahead of you…” (Mark 16:6,7). Yes! It is this promise that He gives to us this year: “I will go before you and will level the mountains” (Isaiah 45:2). Probably you are saying, “Everything is crooked before me. I have absolutely no hope about my future.” Even so, the Lord assures that He will go before you and straighten your path.
The Lord will go before you joyfully. The Psalmist exclaims, “You will fill me with joy in your presence” (Psalm16:11). When He goes before you, you just have to follow Him. Then you will have fullness of joy this New Year. So tell the Lord boldly, “Lord, I will not go alone this New Year. If I go alone, I will only have loneliness and tears. My path will be crooked. But if You go before Me, I will have fullness of joy throughout this year.” Then the Lord will grant you such a life this New Year.
Why there is fullness of joy in the presence of God? When Lord Jesus Christ sojourned on this earth, He was moved with compassion and wept whenever He saw people tormented by problems. Today, He is with you not as a God who weeps, but as One who goes before you joyfully. The Lord declares, “I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades” (Revelation 1:18). He joyfully says, “Problems may crop up in your life. But I am alive even today. I have triumphed over the valley of death. So I will surely resurrect you.” He assures, “Because I live, you will also live” (John 14:19). When He goes before you, you will be filled with joy. God is alive even today and He will make us live.
I would like to present below the testimony of Manoj and his wife, who shared it during the Jesus Calls Prayer Festival held in Mumbai in 2009. Their testimony goes to prove that Lord Jesus is alive even today.
Manoj said, “Although I worked very hard, I only met with failures. On account of my failures, I was humiliated in my family, amidst my friends and in my work spot. I attended the Jesus Calls Prayer Festival in Mumbai with a great hope that the Lord would remove all my failures and shame and grant me days of blessing."
“During the prayer time, Dr. Paul Dhinakaran said, ‘My dear young children, Lord Jesus Christ is your only hope. He says in Zephaniah 3:19 that He will give you praise and honour. Do you believe it? Many of you are going through shame in your job, family and society. Nonetheless Lord Jesus assures, ‘I shall bring you praise and honour in the same place where you were humiliated.’ Then he continued, ‘Bro. Manoj, you are in great agony because you are going through the path of shame and humiliation. But Lord Jesus assures that He will grant you praise and honour in the same place where you experienced shame and agony.’ At that very moment, I was overwhelmed by divine peace. Immediately, I rejoiced in my spirit and glorified God.”
His wife was thrilled and she said, “From the time we got married, my husband wanted to get away from his business partner and do a business all by himself. On account of that, he had to go through shame and agony. He was feeling very insecure. I firmly believe that every prophetic word spoken by Dr. Paul Dhinakaran today was meant only for us.” The Lord has prospered this couple in the same place where they went through shame and agony.
Yes, Lord Jesus Christ is alive even today. Because He is alive, you must firmly believe that He will enable you to have praise and honour in the same place where you experienced shame and agony. I believe that He will go before you, change the crooked path and grant you a new life.
Prayer: Loving Lord Jesus,
You are the living God. Go ahead of me and straighten the crooked path. I will follow You that I may have fullness of joy. I will rejoice in my spirit because I know that You have already triumphed over the valley of death through your death and resurrection. I believe that You are alive even today and that You will make me live. Honour me in the same place where I experienced shame and agony.
