THE WORKING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
THE FRAGRANCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

A small dead fly can spoil the perfume made with so much of effort by the perfume maker. "As dead flies give perfume a bad smell, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honour" (Ecclesiastes.10:1).Likewise, even a small thought about the devil can affect our entire life. When we fall for a small temptation brought by the devil or through an act of small unbelief, the devil destroys our entire life. That is why the Bible says, "Do not give the devil a foothold" (Ephesians .4:27). "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). Is it possible to resist the devil with our own strength? "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom" (2 Corinthians 3:17).
As mentioned in the above Scripture verse, when we receive the experience of the Almighty God dwelling in our hearts through His Holy Spirit, we shall be able to resist the devil. The Holy Spirit Himself shall deliver us from the bondage of the devil, from all our problems and sicknesses and help us to emit His fragrance. During the Prayer Festival held in Tirunelveli, South India, after delivering God's message I began to pray. The Lord poured His Holy Spirit on all the participants specially the youth. Immediately after the prayer a young girl rushed to the dais and testified, "I feel very happy." I asked her, "Why are you so happy?" She replied, "I am filled with the Holy Spirit. Before I received the Holy Spirit, I used to be very adamant. I would never obey my parents. I would back answer my parents and hurl unnecessary words at them. Today the Lord has given me a new heart. I asked my parents to forgive me." She told this so boldly in front of the huge crowd. I asked her parents also to come to the dais. When they came she hugged her parents, kissed them and told them again with great emotion, "Dad, Mom henceforth I shall be a new daughter to you both." Through her the fragrance of the Holy Spirit was revealed that day.
Dear Friend! Our loving Jesus offered Himself on the cross just for us to be healed, to be victorious and to be blessed in all aspects of our life. Today He affectionately calls you saying, "My darling" and pleads, "My child, give Me your heart (Prov.23:26). Let me come and dwell in your heart and be the fragrant incense." Please accept Jesus in your heart. Then He shall dwell in you. His fragrant incense shall be revealed through you and you shall become His fragrant incense.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
Help me submit to You that I may be able to resist the devil and that he will flee from me. May my life spread fragrance in whichever place You have planted me. Give me the grace to put on Your armour and be prepared for the spiritual warfare always. May the fragrance of my life draw many souls into Your divine fold on this day. Crown me with Your goodness. Let Your goodness and mercy follow me always. Please prosper all the efforts that I undertake on this day and make me glad
