PRAISE THE LORD! GOOD MORNING !
EVEN IN OUR SUFFERINGS CHRIST SUFFERS WITH US.
SUFFERINGS IS THE MEANS TO SALVATION. CHRIST SAVED US THROUGH SUFFERINGS. AS CHRISTIANS WE ARE CALLED TO SHARE IN THE SUFFERINGS OF CHRIST. BUT CHRIST ASSURES US THAT IN THE MIDST OF REDEMPTIVE SUFFERINGS HE WILL PROVIDE US WITH PEACE AND JOY !
TREASURE YOUR TEARS
- Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
How true is the Scripture verse that says, "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution" (2 Timothy 3:12). Even our Lord and Saviour Jesus walked through the valley of tears in the Garden at Gethsemane. He is our WAY (John 14:6). It is stated in the Bible, "For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted" (Hebrews 2:18). The following Scripture verse clearly describe this: "For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings." (Hebrews 2:10).
The Lord Jesus fulfilled the purpose for which He was sent by His Father. He is our exemplary example. He went through the path of suffering and affliction on the cross because of the joy that was set before Him, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2). He patiently bore all the agony and the sufferings on the Cross, since He knew through His sufferings the entire humanity shall be saved. Likewise, when we read about the lives of a few saints of God in the Bible we see that even they have walked through the valley of tears. None of them lived a comfortable and luxurious life and reached heaven.
There lived a rich man in this world who enjoyed all the luxuries of life. At the same time there also lived a poor man named Lazarus who was languishing in poverty, sickness and troubles. Both of them died. Since the poor Lazarus sought after the Lord in this world he reached heaven and sat in the bosom of Abraham happily. On the other hand, the rich man who lived a lavish lifestyle on this earth without seeking God reached hell to suffer in the eternal fire (Luke 16:19-31). Remember to treasure your tears when you walk through the valley of tears. When you are led to walk through the valley of tears as Lazarus did, to that extent and beyond the Lord shall certainly exalt you.
Prayer:
Loving heavenly Father,
I firmly believe that You put my tears into Your bottle; and that they are recorded in Your book. Give me the grace not to murmur or grumble while I am led to walk through the valley of tears. Please help me to treasure my tears so that I would turn out to be a blessing for someone in need. Hold me in Your righteous right hand and guide me in the paths upon which You desire that I should walk. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be always acceptable to You.
In the matchless name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ I pray.
Amen
