CRY AND CALL CHRIST - Sis. Stella Dhinakaran 
"Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7). When you humble yourself before God and say, "Lord, I am a great sinner but pretend as if I have done nothing. Although I am Your servant, I harbour in my heart hatred, bitterness and jealousy. Please do forgive me", then the Lord shall remove all your shortcomings and make you a vessel of mercy.
A certain devout college student was joined by another student as his room-mate. In the beginning he was good in reading the Holy Bible, offering prayers and attending the church services. The first student felt immensely happy about his companion. As days rolled by his companion fell into bad company and gradually became an addict to smoking and other evil habits.
At this juncture the first student started praying fervently for him saying, "Lord! Please have mercy on my room mate who is addicted to all evil habits. His parents have built high hopes on him. He is unable to concentrate on his studies. Please have mercy on him." One day he also invited his friend to join him in prayer. However, his friend not only rejected his invitation but also admonished him. His repeated requests bore no fruits.
Finally one day he agreed to join him in prayer. The godly student prayed with tears for him saying, "Lord! Please save this young man. Please forgive all the sins which he is doing without his knowledge. Speak to him today and remove all his shortcomings." Upon seeing his sincerity, the stony heart of the other boy broke into smithereens.
He thought, "Why should my friend cry for me? Why should he pray with tears and burden for me?" Without his knowledge he closed his eyes and wept saying, "Lord! My friend is crying and praying for me. I am a hard-hearted sinner (1 Timothy 1:15). Would You forgive me?" Immediately God's mercy descended on him. The Lord forgave and forgot all his sins. He anointed him with His Holy Spirit. From that day onwards all the darkness in his life vanished and he began to arise and shine for God. (Psalm 60:1)
Dear Friend! Today the Lord is eagerly waiting to save you and bless you. The Bible says, "He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13). Whatever be the condition of your life today just call on the name of Jesus Christ and confess everything to Him alone. He is the source of all wisdom, wealth and health. He will be your Guard, Guide, Good Shepherd and Counsellor (Psalm 32:8; John 10:11; Isaiah 9:6). Be of good cheer!
Prayer
Almighty God.
Loving Father, You are rich in mercy and ready to pardon any sinner who calls out in the name of Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ the Redeemer of this world. On this day, I confess my sins and plead with You to grant me the happiness and peace that I am in search of. May Your perfect grace surround me like a wall of fire and protect me under Your mighty and healing wings.
I give all glory, honour and praises to Your matchless name. Believing in the awesome name of Jesus Christ I place all these supplications at Your feet to be answered 'yea' and 'amen'.
