DAILY MEDITATIONS # 29, Christmas Sunday, 25.12.11

DAILY MEDITATIONS  # 29, Christmas Sunday, 25.12.11

Isaiah 62:1-5

For the LORD delights in you
and makes your land his spouse.
As a young man marries a virgin,
your Builder shall marry you;
and as a bridegroom rejoices in his bride
so shall your God rejoice in you.

Acts 13: 16-17, 22-25

'I have found David, son of Jesse, a man after my own heart;
he will carry out my every wish.'
From this man's descendants God, according to his promise,
has brought to Israel a savior, Jesus.

Mathew 1:18-25

She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus,
because he will save his people from their sins."
All this took place to fulfill
what the Lord had said through the prophet:
Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,
which means "God is with us."

Acts 10:38

And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

Mathew 9:35

Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.

Romans  5:8

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

What does Christmas mean to the lonely and the stranger ? What does Christmas mean to the  disfigured in the body, mind and soul ? What does Christmas mean to the maimed and mutilated ? What does Christmas mean to those in prison and to those awaiting death penalty ? What does Christmas mean to those deprived of their land and legitimate rights ? What does Christmas mean to those who are terminally ill and for whom death is minutes away ? What does Christmas mean to the childless, the widow and the orphan ? What does Christmas mean to broken families and to those on the brink of divorce ? What does Christmas mean to those who are hungry, naked and shelter-less  in the cold ? What does Christmas mean to the penniless and the bankrupt ? What does Christmas mean to those who are enslaved to addictive habits ? What does Christmas mean to those emotionally hurt and in severe mental pain ? What does Christmas mean to those who are heavily guilt ridden and spiritually sick ?  Christ continues to serve all these  needy persons through each one of us who are blessed to be filled with the joy of Christmas. Christ promises forgiveness of sins and redemption from evil bondage's to all those who place their trust in him. This is what Christmas means to all of us.
Happy Christmas to all !

God Bless.
