DAILY MEDITATIONS  # 28, Saturday 24.12.11

I will plant them so that they may dwell in their place
without further disturbance.

2 Samuel 7:1-5,8-12,14-16

"Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
for he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty Savior,
born of the house of his servant David.
In the tender compassion of our God
the dawn from on high shall break upon us,
to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death,
and to guide our feet into the way of peace."

Luke 1:67-79

Jesus Christ was sent into world to deliver us from the bondage of sin. The world is a broken place and we are broken individuals because of sin and its consequences. That is the reason why there is no peace in the world. Jesus came to destroy the kingdom of Satan and to free us from the clutches of the evil one. We are too weak to fight Satan and to liberate ourselves and so a divine Savior in human form is necessary.  Christmas is very much about celebrating the victory of Good over Evil. God as our loving Father has initiated the process of redemption in our hearts with the birth of Christ this Christmas season. Hence we welcome the birth of our Savior with great joy.

God Bless
