Mass Readings for 3.11.11 Rom. 14:7-12 Do not judge anyone.Only God reserves the right to judge. Luke 15:1-10 Jesus speaks of the love of God for " LOST " The readings are meant for the Christian Community. The high standards of behaviour set by Yahweh our God for us to follow are not possible by human efforts alone.The grace, power and mercy of God are needed. All of us are backslidden christians to varying degrees. All of us are stuck or get stuck in the mud of sin to various levels and at different times, and therefore God through the church dispenses different sacraments to cleanse ourselves and be reconciled to God. And the Bible says that all have sinned ( except for Mother Mary and Jesus ) and fallen short of the glory of God. Then what right have to judge our brothers and sisters in Christ when all of us are in the same boat.Again and again in the Scriptures God commands " Do not judge " and " Do not be vengeful " These are the exclusive prerogatives of God. Hence all of us being under the sway of sin or the grip of sin, in one way or the other are the "Lost Sheep" and The Lost Coin". We may have sinned either deliberately or unintentionally or due to pressure of circumstances or by force of sinful habit or human weakness.We all struggle against the impulse to sin and it is only by the mercy and compassion of a loving God in Jesus Christ that we still find ourselves in the grace of God. Whenever we stray away from God, Jesus is very concerned about us.He immediately sets out to rescue us because He knows very well that sin would have deceived ,bruised and wounded us.He carries us on His broad shoulders and nurses us. Like the diligent woman He immediatley lights a candle, sweeps the floor and finds us because He knows that without him we will be lost and miserable in this life and hereafter. Did He not promise that " Even if your mother were to forget you I will always have you close to My heart. " There is no other God like our own who gave up His own life on the cross to find us and save us......His love for us sinners is infinite. Therefore let us beginning with our own family members be understanding, forgiving , merciful and loving just like Jesus is with all of us.Let us not judge it is for God to judge, God Bless
