FIRST WEEK OF LENT ........ WEDNESDAY

LUKE 11: 29-32

God's Word Translation in Luke 13:3 says  " But if you don't turn to God and change the way you think and act, then you, too, will all die."  Here death means eternal death. If we sincerely believe the Words of Christ we also like the Ninevites will repent of our sins and avoid eternal death by the grace of God. If we wish to obtain true wisdom like the Queen of Sheba we also will listen in the simplicity of our hearts to the Words of Christ and obey him. Repentance and obedience springs from belief and love. Let us ask God to bless us abundantly with the gifts of faith and obedience this Lenten season. Paul spoke of certain Jews and Greeks in the following verses as, " For the Jews ask for miraculous proofs and the Greeks an intellectual panacea --- but all we preach is Christ crucified...." ( 1Cor. 1:22 ). Instead, let us in  simplicity and humility  believe Christ who gave his life for us,  to a radical conversion of our hearts.
