PERFECT IN ALL ASPECT - Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran The Psalmist asks, "What shall I render to the Lord For all His benefits toward me? I will take up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord". Psalm 116:12, 13. What is meant by the 'cup of salvation'? It is offering oneself and calling upon the name of the Lord. We ought to call upon the name of our Lord always taking the cup of salvation at all times. The Bible asks, "how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?" (Hebrews 2: 3, 4).
For David says concerning Him: 'I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken. Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope. Acts 2:25-26. He also says, "I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved." Psalm 16:8. The Psalmist says, I have placed the Lord always before me and my eyes are fixed on Him alone. What does the Lord commend into the life of one who always places HIM before them and keep their eyes focused on Him alone? God makes your heart rejoice, your tongue glad and your flesh to rest in hope Acts 2:26. The entire body is filled with happiness. The secret is that Jesus Christ dwells in us as the HOPE OF GLORY.
As a newly wed when I entered my husband's home I felt a unique experience. Earlier, before marriage I used to read the Word of God. However, I saw the members of my family beginning the day with prayer, having their breakfast after offering prayer, saying prayer before leaving home for the day, praying before beginning a meeting and giving thanks after the meeting is over then praying during night thanking God for all His goodness. I could see praise and prayer in the lips of everyone always. When I began to praise God with all my heart I could see a change in my life as well. Indescribable peace and joy filled my soul. It was a time when I lost the dear ones of my family viz my brother, mother and father. Amidst sorrow, I clung firmly to the Lord and pleaded with Him to fill me with His Holy Spirit. It is only after my marriage that God gave me this wonderful experience of being filled with the Holy Spirit. This is definitely a blessed privilege. The Bible says, "You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." Psalm 16:11. When we place the Lord before us, He grants us eternal happiness that is perfect in all aspect. The Bible says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God" Ephesians 2:8.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus Christ,
When You lived on this earth you stated, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" You also stated, ""Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." On this wonderful day which You have made for me to rejoice, I plead with You to grant me the anointing of the Holy Spirit which the indescribable gift that any person on earth can possess. In Your immense grace and mercy grant me eternal happiness that is perfect in all aspect. I surrender my life into Your loving hands. Keep me under protection and guidance.
Amen.
