MARRIAGE

Husband and Wife are Co-Rulers Together

God created the institution of marriage so that both husband and wife could be co-rulers

on the earth. Conducting your marriage by God's manual—the Bible—is the only

guarantee for success.

Do not be concerned with what your spouse is doing. Instead, concentrate on what

you should be doing.

There are some things that spouses should never do or say to one another.

1.      Wives should never be critical of their husbands.

            a.      A wife should never tell her husband that he is not a real man.

           b.      Don't nag, but let your quiet spirit and godly conversation win him over (1

                    Peter 3:1).

2.      Husbands should never speak harshly toward their wives.

a.      Never tell your wife that you hate her.

3.       Don't be led by your emotions.

                         a.      When you are hurt, you will say the wrong things.

                        b.      The things you say may damage your relationship beyond repair.

            c.   When you do say hurtful things to one another, repent to one another

and make- up your minds to never be unkind again

Husbands and wives are co-rulers through partnership.

1.      You cannot show love for and support of others and not show it to your spouse.

2.      A wife is not less of a person than her husband; they are equal partners in the

          marriage.

3.      Wives should communicate their love for their husbands by supporting them.

If you do not support your husband, you are not showing him love.

                                             Invest in the inner man.

  1.      Make sure you invest in the hidden man of the heart, which is your spirit (1 Peter

             3:4).

  2.      Cultivate a meek spirit.

                 a.      A meek spirit refuses to contribute to chaos in the home.

                 b.      A meek spirit is one that is peaceful.

Wives should make sure that they are not the cause of marital problems.

1.      Manipulation, crying and complaining do nothing to contribute to a stable

household.

           a.      Husbands and wives must get rid of the baggage in their lives so that they

                    can have a healthy relationship.

            b.      A virtuous woman guides her house into peace (Proverbs 31:10-28).

Husbands are to dwell with their wives according them due honor and respect.(1 Peter

3:7).

  1.      Every husband needs to take responsibility for his marriage.

        a.      Husbands should educate  themselves on marriage.

                     i.        Read books.

                     ii.       Listen to tapes.

                     iii.      Go to seminars.

          b.      Don't operate according to the world's system concerning marriage.

                      i.        Do not listen to talk shows and television for advice and counsel.

           c.      Read the best marriage manual ever written—the Bible.

        d.      Conducting your marriage according to God's method guarantees that your

marriage will be healthy, wholesome, prosperous and happy.

                  i.        You have to understand the different roles in marriage

Co-rulership is the partnership of life.

1.      You and your spouse are heirs together in the kingdom of God.

          a.      When you are in agreement, your prayers are not hindered (1 Peter 3:7).

2.      Co-rulers are two people jointed together in the adventures of marriage and life.

          a.      If a spouse is treated as "less than," his or her partner will be discouraged.

Bitterness, discouragement and hardness of heart can occur as a result.

          b.      When a husband and wife treat each other as joint-partners, they empower

             themselves and their relationship.

3.      Husbands should treat their wives as partners.

         a.      Involve your spouse in all major decisions.

        b.      Treat one another with mutual respect and honor.

You and your spouse are to be of one mind.

  1.      It takes time, patience, commitment and communication to become one with

another person in the area of your soul.

           a.      Be compassionate, caring, sympathetic and kind in order to achieve oneness

               of mind.

         b.      Effective communication occurs when two people clearly understand one

         another.

         c.      When you are not talking to each other (the silent treatment), the devil will

             talk to both of you.

                 i.        Make sure to continue communicating—even when you are frustrated.

2.      The Word of God is the final authority.

3.            Allow the Bible to settle every argument.

Above all put all of your trust in God alone. He will take care of everything for you

MARRIAGE

Marriage Relationships in the Kingdom of God

God wants you to operate your relationships according to His system instead of the
world's system. Marriage is a covenant relationship that, when established God's way,
will be blessed  and helps you to accomplish God's will on earth.
Husbands and wives should focus on fulfilling their roles according to the Word of God
so that the marriage functions properly (Ephesians 5:21-33).

1.      Husbands and wives are to submit to one another because it is right in God's sight.

2.      Submission means getting under and supporting the mission of another person.

3.      The biggest change you can make in any relationship is within yourself.

4.      The husband is the head of the family.

           a. To be the head does not mean controlling, abusing or dominating your wife.

           b. The controlling person actually has no control over his or her emotions.

           c.   Headship is leadership.

                     i.  Maintain your headship while at the same time involving your wife

                        in the decision-making process.

            d.  Men must guard against an Ahab spirit that lets the wife take the role as the
                  head.

           e.   The husband's first responsibility in the home is to be the spiritual leader.
                        i.  A real leader matures in the love of God.
ii. Fathers should raise their children to know how to walk in love
                            forgiveness.
iii. Fathers should spend time with their children so that they know
how they should relate with others.

5.      A woman's number one need is security.
           a. If a husband provides his wife with everything she needs, she will feel secure.

           b. Husbands are to love their wives as Christ loves the church.
                      i.    A husband's unconditional love for his wife will change what needs
                           be changed in her.
ii.    There is nothing your wife does that should make you stop loving her

BIASED REASONING II

Reasoning: A Work of the Flesh  (II)

The flesh is a mindset that agrees with anything that opposes the Word of God. It operates through reasoning and questioning. There is a difference between asking a legitimate biblical question and questioning the Word as a result of doubt and unbelief.

There are four areas that will hinder you from seeing things from God's point of view.

1.      Your current circumstances.

a.      When your circumstances cause you to say things like, "I don't see how it's going to happen when I don't have a job," you are walking in the flesh.

b.      Walking in the Spirit says, "I see what I believe."

c.      Whatever you are believing God for is already done (Isaiah 46:9-10, AMP).

2.      Your previous experiences.

a.      Don't allow them to limit you from receiving what God can do for you right now.

b.      You past mistakes do not have to prevent you from laying hold of your future increase.

3.      Other people's experiences.

a.      Acting on the experiences of others will limit you in receiving what God wants to do in your life.

b.      When their experience becomes your expectation, you are walking in the flesh.

4.      Negative or limiting words.

a.      Ignore the negativity of others.

b.      The ultimate prize for the flesh is to get you to quit.

c.      When you overcome the negative words spoken over your life, real promotion has taken place.

This is the time of fullness (nothing needed and nothing wanted) for those who walk in the Spirit.

1.      When the Lord is the Shepherd of your life, you have no want—that is fullness.

2.      Next year is the year of the overflow; however, you can't overflow unless you are already full.

3.      Overflow is not for you, it is for the kingdom.

4.      It all begins with changing the way you think.

a.      You cannot think in line with the world and receive your expectations from the Word.

b.      You must not entertain thoughts of defeat, because a man is what he thinks (Proverbs 23:7).

Biased Reasoning

Reasoning: A Work of the Flesh  (I)

The flesh is a mindset that agrees with anything that opposes the Word of God. It operates through reasoning and questioning. There is a difference between asking a legitimate biblical question and questioning the Word as a result of doubt and unbelief.

Walking in the Spirit versus walking in the flesh is a way of thinking (Galatians 5:16-24).

1.      The difference between walking in the Spirit and walking in the flesh is your point of view.

a.      Having God's point of view = the Spirit.

b.      Having man's point of view = the flesh.

2.      You must read the Word to obtain God's point of view.

a.      God looks out of a vertical window—from heaven and His Word.

b.      Man looks out of a horizontal window—only those things that can be comprehended by his senses.

Reasoning is walking in the flesh.

1.      Reasoning always takes the form of a question (Luke 5:20-23) that stems from doubt and unbelief.

2.      When you question the Word, you are really looking for an excuse not to change (Matthew 13:53-58).

a.      People who practice reasoning will ultimately become offended (verse 57).

b.      Jesus calls questioning and reasoning "unbelief" (verse 58).

3.      John the Baptist's questions regarding Jesus' true identity brought him into unbelief and offense (Matthew 11:2-6).

a.      He allowed his incarceration to cause him to lean to the flesh instead of to the Spirit.

b.      His questions blocked his anointing and blessing, and led him down the road to destruction.

c.      Avoid becoming offended with God, Who is your only Help in the time of trouble.

4.      Paul and Silas leaned to the Spirit while incarcerated (Acts 16:26).

a.      When things happen in your life that you don't understand, don't question God.

b.      Allow praise and thanksgiving to bring you out.

c.      You must use your mouth to enforce your victory, not your defeat.

d.      When people see your deliverance from adverse circumstances, they will want to be saved

Purity for Prosperity - II

Purity: A Foundation For the Blessing Flow  (II)

As a Christian, you have already been blessed by God, however you must have a pure heart in order to withdraw the blessing. A pure heart is genuine and sincere, without selfishness or underhandedness. You can purify your heart by obeying the truth of God's Word.

You must have clean hands and a pure heart to handle the Word of God and get results from it.

1.      Just like God gave Moses a rod with which he did signs and wonders (Exodus 4:17), He has given you the "rod" of His Word.

a.      Jesus is the rod, or the Word of God through which signs and wonders are done (Isaiah 11:1; John 1:14).

b.      The Word is the rod through which all things are possible.

2.      Just like Jesus purified His house of thievery and wickedness (Matthew 21:12-16), you must also purify your heart.

a.      When you purify your heart, you will become a person of prayer, who experiences God's power and responds with praise.

b.      By purging your heart, you allow more fruit to show forth in your life (John 15:2).

c.      Purify your heart by being obedient to the truth of God's Word (1 Peter 1:22).

i.        When you obey the truth, it will cleanse and purify your heart (John 8:31, 32).

ii.       Knowing the Word of God is necessary before you can obey it.

d.      Looking for and expecting the return of the Lord will also purify your heart (1 John 3:1-3).

i.        When you live daily with the awareness that Jesus could come back at any moment, you will be careful to keep sin and impurity out of your heart and life.

Purity for Prosperity - I

Purity:
A Foundation For the Blessing Flow
 (I)

As a Christian, you have already been blessed by God, however you must have a pure heart in order to withdraw the blessing. A pure heart is genuine and sincere, without selfishness or underhandedness. You can purify your heart by obeying the truth of God's Word.

If you are a Believer, the blessing has already been deposited in you (Ephesians 1:3).

1.      Jesus has already redeemed you from the curse of the law (Galatians 3: 7, 8, 13).

a.      You are not cursed, or empowered to fail, anymore.

b.      You can't reverse what God has already blessed.

Having a pure heart is a prerequisite to withdrawing the blessing.

1.      Purity is being free from anything that pollutes, defiles or contaminates; being free from anything sinister and underhanded; sincere with the right motives and thoughts.

a.      A pure heart is genuine and sincere, with no selfishness or underhandedness.

2.      God expects you to cleanse yourself from everything that defiles your spirit (2 Timothy 2: 19-21).

a.      Iniquity

b.      Sin

3.      When you have clean hands and a pure heart, you will be a recipient of the benefits of the blessing (Psalm 24:3-5; Matthew 5:8).

4.      Having a pure heart means being pure in thought and deed.

5.      You must have a pure heart that has the right motives if you want your prayers to be answered (James 4:3).

6.      Purity is the gateway to the blessing flow.

7.      There will be no manifestation in your life until you deal with the impurity of your heart.

a.      Be honest with yourself about your personal struggles with sin or impurity.

b.      God appreciates and respects honesty.

c.      God will give you wisdom concerning your situation if you come to Him truthfully about what you are dealing with (Psalm 51:6).

d.      Covering your sins will block the blessing from operating in your life (Proverbs 28:13).

e.      God wants to deliver you, but deliverance comes when you have clean hands and a pure heart (Job 22:29, 30).

f.       Elisha's servant Gehazi blocked the blessing because of the greed of his own heart and reaped a generational curse as a result (2 Kings 5:20-27).

i.        The power of God would not flow when Gehazi tried to perform a miracle with Elisha's rod because his hands were not clean (2 Kings 4:29).
